Even before a student thinks about the test and documents required he or she should first apply to the desired Canadian institutions about 18 months prior to the date of admission.

You can either get the application forms by requesting for them from the university or by downloading it from the institution’s website.

In order to be eligible for the Canadian undergraduate degree an Indian student needs a 16 years of formal education in the Indian education system. Apart from the qualifications, studying in Canada requires various documents for the application requirements.

Academic Records – Students with a good scoring academic record are more likely to secure a position in a foreign university and the institution needs proof for the good score. The official mark sheets are required often along with a letter stating the percentile of the students applying compared to the rest of the class he or she was in. Standardized Tests – Most of the Canadian Institutes ask for the score tests of GRE, GMAT, SAT etc. and they require the proofs of these test scores via legal documents.

English Language Proficiency – Documents showing the test scores for TOEFL or IELTS or any other accepted English Language Proficiency tests results will have to be presented.

Letter Of Recommendation – LORs are an important part of being accepted to a foreign University. Two academic references and two employer’s references are often required by institutions.

Work experience details – In case of vocational training courses, the work experience details record is required by the institution.

Resume or CV – This varies with the requirements of the institution.

Statement of Purpose – This document requires much attention as it plays a huge role in distinguishing one’s self from the other applicants and thus increase the chances of being selected by the institution.

Once a candidate gets selected by a Canadian Institution for his or her desired course, the process of the VISA application and sanction begins.
