Indian students have been going to foreign countries for higher studies for many decades now, and USA has always been one of the most popular choices for them.
Not only for Indian students but for international students in general, USA has always been a preferred country for higher studies owing to the acceptance of their degrees in the international job market and also because of the unique and useful education system.
Those who are used to following the Indian education system will see that there is a huge difference between our education system here and the one in the west.
We at Oasis Migration provide our clients with all the necessary information regarding the education system of the USA. This ensures that you do not face any unexpected situation over there and also helps you decide your future course since this usually narrows down the innumerable choices regarding institutions and courses that are available to a student.
The educational structure of the USA has one aspect similar to that of the Indian educational structure that both the countries deals with schooling of about 12 years before the students are allowed to move on to undergraduate or post graduate courses.
The grading system however is very different and an aspiring international student will have to submit the official copies of their academic works to the institution in order to get selected for a particular course. The grading system taken into account by the institutions often depends on the standard of the institution the student belonged to previously.
Again different departments of different institutions demand different requirements which make it very hard to know the universal academic requirements of studying in USA. In such cases our counsel and knowledge in these matters or that of an educational advisor help out the aspiring Indian students who want to go abroad for higher studies.
The session for the new students usually begins in the autumn with the calendar beginning in August or September and continuing till May or June. The academic year is usually divided into two terms called semesters which lasts for around 16 weeks and on some cases into three terms with trimesters instead of semesters that lasts for around 10 to 12 weeks.
The higher level education system is divided into three terms, with the first term being graduate level, the second term being master’s degree and the third term being the doctorate degree. In order to get enrolled in any of these courses a student usually has to provide documents of the previous degree which has to be equivalent to the one provided in USA.
The USA educational system ensures that the students have a well-rounded study experience with their chosen core subjects and varied options of elective subjects. The system also ensures that students get to increase their knowledge by discussing new ideas regarding their subjects and not just by copying from what is written on the blackboard of a class room.
